Bob “Boomer” Brown was one of the most explosive offensive linemen of the 1960s. “The Boomer” was a six-time Pro Bowler, playing for the Eagles, Rams, and Raiders, this was a guy who could just obliterate the defensive line. Brown was also a member of the 1960s NFL All-Decade Team.
I am especially flattered and honored to have received a response from the Boomer. I left him the option if he was interested in responding, to leave it to a family member to respond, because I knew Brown had been dealing with carpal tunnel syndrome, something my mother has been dealing with for quite some time. However, I am honored that Brown went out of his way to personally respond despite his ailment, and I will be forever grateful to him for that! Thank you, Boomer!
PS: Those of you autograph collectors out there who may be thinking about sending Brown items to sign from autograph collecting information floating around the internet: I ask that you please respect the Boomer’s wishes to no longer respond to fan mail and not send him items to sign. Carpal tunnel syndrome is a painful ordeal on the hands.
