36) Mike Haynes

Versatile Raiders backfield legend Mike Haynes is said by many to be the greatest cornerback in NFL history.

A nine-time Pro Bowler, winner of the 1976 Defensive Rookie of the Year, as well as the 1984 Defensive Player of the Year, and a unanimous vote to the NFL 100th Anniversary team, not to mention named to the NFL 75th Anniversary Team, Haynes helped the Raiders win two rings in the 1980 and 1983 seasons. Haynes was also an excellent punt returner…his rookie year he had two touchdown returns, and twice, early in his career, averaged 13 yards per punt.

I was not aware that Mr. Haynes happens to be a cancer survivor himself, and I am proud to have heard from an NFL icon who can relate. God Bless you too, Mr. Haynes!!!
