31) Lance Alworth

Arguably the greatest AFL player of all time, Lance Alworth holds the record for most games with 200 or more yards receiving.

I also received a response from arguably the greatest pre-merger AFL player of all time, Lance Alworth. “Bambi” was the first player to get inducted in the Pro Football Hall of Fame who spent the majority of his career in the AFL, winning the AFL MVP award in 1963, and holds, to this day, the record for most games (5) with 200 or more yards catches. With us currently in an era of inflated numbers, it is beyond incredible to think he did this SIX DECADES AGO. If that doesn’t make you one of the greatest receivers of all-time, I don’t know what does.

Alworth sent me a business card reminding me that God has a plan for all of us, and suggesting I be humble, and pray for guidance as I recover from cancer. Thank you, “Bambi”!
